Passionate about entrepreneurship and business growth in SMEs and a strong believer that business coaching is the most powerful way to achieve amazing results. I started out in Corporate and as a Strategy Consultant for large companies. I quickly discovered delivering reports and strategic advice didn't excite me because the impact that I had was limited. So after a couple of years, I switched to the SME sector where I could work directly with the decision-maker, the business owner. In 2008 I was ready to capitalize on my experience and start out on my own. By accident, I discovered ActionCOACH, the world's largest business coaching franchise, that had developed a very powerful model for helping SME's grow. The logical, very practical approach combined with growth mindset principles and accountability for getting things done strongly resonated with me. Being part of a global network of like-minded coaches, continuous education and a great support structure exited me. So I decided to join as a Business Coach and the master licensee for the Caribbean region. After returning to the Netherlands we also took up the Master Licensee for the Netherlands and Flanders. And in 2017 we added Engage & Grow to our offerings. As the CEO of ActionCOACH and Engage & Grow for our territories, my core focus is on recruiting new franchise partners and leading and supporting the team of business coaches. What drives me is my passion for SMEs to thrive because there is so much opportunity and so much room for improvement. To see business owners grow personally, getting control over their businesses and building great teams, with the result that they get their life back as they get the business to work for them, instead of the other way around. And to help all these businesses we need many great business coaches to coach, guide, and educate them. And as business coaches built their own coaching businesses, the same principles apply. I was born in the Netherlands, spend most of my youth in Suriname - the homeland of my parents - but was forced to leave the country after a military coup in 1980. Returned to the Netherlands, went to University, got married and kids, and started my career. I truly started missing the tropics so we moved to the island of Curacao for seven years, had a great time and moved back to the Netherlands where I'm based now. I'm passionate about music (piano and singing), dance, art and tai-chi.
After successfully starting and building ActionCOACH in the Caribbean, we took up the opportunity to bring ActionCOACH to the Netherlands and Flanders. Our current team consists of 11 partners of which 8 are in the Netherlands and 3 are in Flanders. We've experienced substantial growth in 2020/2021 despite the COVID crisis which proves that business coaching is a recession-proof industry - and growing. With our proven, systematic, and holistic approach to coaching we coach SME business owners and their teams to build better businesses. We aim to give business owners more free time, a better team, and more money. Because being in business should give them more life. In my role as CEO/Master Licensee, my job is to recruit (aspiring )entrepreneurs who are looking to capitalize on their experience by building a successful business coaching company.
