Provide strategic direction and oversight of ASCO and joint-association initiatives related to cancer care delivery innovation. Direct major projects that require cross-departmental and external collaboration.
Provide leadership and managerial oversight of mission strategies related to cancer health equity, prevention, and survivorship. Develop strategic plans, needs assessments, project plans, and reports. Represent the organization to provide subject matter expertise, present ASCO-led research, and raise visibility of initiatives striving to improve cancer care delivery. Engage with key external stakeholders and report on strategic intelligence and trends to build networks and increase communication and collaboration. Incubate and help establish new initiatives to advance the organization’s cancer health equity, survivorship, and prevention goals. Grow and nurture the skills and abilities of direct reports; addressing operational issues that may impact consistent delivery of assigned deliverables. Serve as Project Director of the five-year, multimillion-dollar grant awarded as part of the Alliance for Equity in Cancer Care, a Merck Foundation Initiative.
Assist the Director to create, develop, and recommend society policies and positions on federal and state legislative and regulatory activities. Work directly with the Board of Directors; serve as a liaison between the leadership and SNM Committees to ascertain needs and priorities of the organization and its members. Coordinate actions of SNM Committees to produce needed materials and activities in support of the society's strategic goals. Facilitate multi-societal collaborations with the goal of developing useful products that will improve quality of patient care. Represent the society in meetings of related professional and industry organizations and public forums of federal advisory committees.
NRPA was selected as a national partner for chronic disease prevention and health promotion by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to advance chronic disease prevention at the local level. Responsibilities included: Assisting the Senior Manager and Program Manager with the development and implementation of all elements of the CDC Cooperative Agreement to support local communities address chronic disease, obesity and tobacco use through policy, systems and environmental change strategies. Management of key components and provide daily support and coordination for 10 NRPA funded communities. Supporting the creation of best practice training modules and publication of successful program implementations. Supporting the development of health promotion tools, resources and training related to policy, systems and environmental change strategies.
Project IMPACT is a Cooperative Agreement between the Association for SIDS and Infant Mortality Programs (ASIP) and the Maternal and Child Health Bureau to support state and local infant death programs through sharing information, promoting policy and legislation changes, and fostering partnerships and communication. Responsibilities included: Assisting the Executive Director with program planning and development with a specific focus on developing policy and best practice resources to reduce the rate of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and infant death within the United States. Managing all financial aspects of the project to include payroll, regular disbursement of funds and federal financial reports. Participation in weekly meetings in support of incorporating project goals into day-to-day activities. Assisting the Executive Director with research, data collection and analysis and strategic information dissemination. Management of the daily office operations and anticipation of emerging administrative and organizational needs of the project.
Responsible for all commercial and private insurance billing for moderate sized home medical equipment company, including all secondary billing and private pay accounts. Played a vital role in the restructuring of the Billing Department, combining three jobs into one by creating more efficient flow of necessary information. Maintained a low unpaid claims/outstanding Accounts Receivable balance. Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised with outstanding success.
