I am a program support professional with experience in client services, administrative coordination, documentation, and resource navigation within behavioral health and community-based settings. My work increasingly focuses on backend operations that support service delivery, including referrals, records management, and cross-functional coordination, allowing programs to run efficiently while remaining client-centered. I bring a strong understanding of systems, accountability, and ethical practice to every role I hold. My academic background in forensic psychology informs my approach to this work, particularly in navigating complex systems that intersect with mental health, justice, and social services. Long term, I aspire to become a civil rights attorney, with the goal of advocating for individuals and communities impacted by systemic inequities. I am especially interested in work that sits at the intersection of human rights, access to services, and institutional accountability, and I view my current professional path as foundational to that trajectory.
I worked across multiple programs with Community Research Foundation (CRF) as a Peer Support Specialist, primarily with Downtown IMPACT and the Jane Westin Center. At Downtown IMPACT, I was part of a multidisciplinary team providing Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) to clients throughout San Diego County. My role centered on providing program and administrative support within a community-based setting by documenting client progress, coordinating daily activities, supporting budgeting and life-skills planning, and assisting with referrals and resource navigation. I played a key role in maintaining organization, consistency, and follow-through across client services. I regularly traveled into the community to provide direct, hands-on support, using empathy, active listening, and clear communication to build trust and foster strong client relationships. I also collaborated closely with clinical staff to address crises and ensure clients received the appropriate level of care. At the Jane Westin Center, I worked with a multidisciplinary team to provide emergency medication services, case management, and direct referrals to ongoing mental health treatment. I facilitated connections to community programs and followed up with clients during their admit period to ensure their needs were met and that they were successfully linked to ongoing treatment and resources. I also utilized crisis intervention strategies when needed and consulted with clinical staff to coordinate timely, appropriate responses to complex situations. Throughout my time with CRF, I relied on both professional skills and lived experience to encourage and motivate clients in their mental health recovery journey. This work strengthened my ability to meet people where they are, build meaningful connections, and bridge gaps between clients and essential services. It also deepened my commitment to supporting individuals on their path toward their goals.
As an Outreach Specialist, I led high-volume outreach and enrollment efforts for Enhanced Care Management (ECM), engaging eligible members through mobile and community-based outreach and clearly communicating program benefits to support informed participation. I managed a large outreach caseload and utilized multiple electronic health record and data systems simultaneously to track eligibility, document outreach attempts, and complete all required intake, enrollment, and compliance documentation, including Individualized Care Plans. I coordinated the onboarding of newly enrolled members by ensuring timely assignment to care managers and facilitating effective handoff to support continuity of care. This included monitoring enrollment status, leveraging all available contact methods and community resources to reach hard-to-engage members, maintaining cross-team communication, and escalating urgent concerns or critical incidents to program leadership as needed. Outreach was conducted across diverse settings, including behavioral and physical health programs, residences, hospitals, crisis houses, long-term care facilities, and detention centers. In addition to direct outreach, I trained and mentored over a dozen care managers in enrollment-focused outreach and member engagement strategies. Drawing on Motivational Interviewing, Trauma-Informed Care, and Harm Reduction, I supported care managers in improving outreach effectiveness, documentation quality, and program implementation across teams.
I work my own hours with Postmates delivering food to people around San Diego County. I interact with customers, making sure to keep them updated on delivery status, assuring that order is accurate and up to par, and keeping customer satisfaction as high as possible.
