About

I am a practical problem-solver. I believe in addressing root issues but won't shy away from tackling the symptoms along the way. I think realistically about what can be put into action by taking stock of constraints and figuring out which ones to push back on and which ones to work with. I am an engineer without borders. I thrive in drawing insights from data -- both quantitative and qualitative. I think in frameworks and like building systems and processes that are scalable. I enjoy finding patterns and then determining what is a true signal versus noise. I think about life choices in terms of probability. I pick up tools quickly, focusing on capability over cachet. I've worked across multiple data stacks, analyzing terabytes of data. I enjoy making analyses that are easily digestible and replicable. I approach new technologies with pragmatic optimism. I am opinionated. It comes from years of experience witnessing and experiencing systems not designed for most folks. It also means I have a lot of practice being the one in the room to bring up the ways we can and need to do better, to hold myself and teammates accountable on good intentions to make sure they're not just empty words, and to have the tough conversations. I'm not shy about asking the uncomfortable questions. I enjoy working with people. I seek to learn from leaders who are strategic visionaries, empathetic managers, and clear communicators. I gain energy from mentoring and helping others unlock their full potential. I approach capacity building with a tailored lens: how can I best craft my feedback and stretch projects for each individual based on their unique profile of strengths and development areas? I am constantly working on improving myself because everyone has room to grow. In work, that means proactively seeking constructive feedback and then putting significant effort into acting on that feedback. In life, that means exploring new hobbies and trying new things. I am a proud product of the Mitten State. Despite being part of its diaspora for so long, I still say “pop” and point to my right hand to show where I am from. I'm also the child of immigrants and an unapologetic advocate for fair, inclusive policies that give people a fair shot to thrive. I am also an avid cook, a recreational rock-climber, a strategic board game enthusiastic, and a curious traveler. Hi! I'm Jane. Nice to meet you.
