I help organisations solve complex technology and transformation problems where the path forward is unclear and senior technology leadership is needed. As a CIO, Interim and Fractional CIO, and Board Advisor, I work with executive teams and boards to stabilise technology environments, modernise legacy platforms, strengthen governance, and make clear decisions about technology, data and digital investment. I am especially effective in high-complexity situations involving operational risk, technical debt, platform instability, ERP and SaaS remediation, data governance, cyber resilience and difficult stakeholder alignment. I bring a calm, commercially grounded approach to ambiguity, particularly where organisations need to move quickly without losing control. My career spans CIO, CTO and technology transformation roles across global enterprises and public institutions, including The New York Public Library, Estée Lauder, Caesars Digital, Bertelsmann, Reed Elsevier and TMP Worldwide / Monster.com. I have led major transformation programmes, managed large budgets, built high-performing teams, and delivered meaningful operational and financial outcomes in environments requiring both strategic judgement and hands-on execution. I am currently completing the Financial Times NED programme while continuing active interim and fractional CIO work. I am interested in selected permanent, interim and fractional CIO roles where technology, data, risk and transformation are central to long-term organisational performance, and I am also exploring advisory and NED opportunities where my technology leadership and governance perspective would add value.
Retained as Fractional CIO to stabilise and modernise the technology environment for a specialist UK B2B HVAC supplier during a period of critical operational risk. Improved underperforming ERP and WMS business applications, strengthened NetSuite governance and reporting, modernised integration architecture, and defined the company’s first enterprise data strategy. Assessed an underperforming NetSuite SuiteCommerce Advanced platform and built the business case for replatforming to BigCommerce as part of a more flexible composable SaaS architecture. Halted further investment in a failing proprietary mobile application, pivoting the strategy to responsive web design to support mobile ordering.
Fortium Partners, now part of ZRG Partners, provides interim, fractional and virtual CIO, CTO and CISO leadership. As a Partner, I provide hands-on CIO leadership to organisations facing complex technology change, operational risk, underperforming platforms and technology capability gaps — helping leadership teams stabilise environments, modernise legacy systems, strengthen governance and make clear decisions about technology, data and digital investment.
