This nurse navigator position is highly specialized, under nuclear medicine, specifically, the new emerging treatment + diagnostics or theranostics department. The position helps patient navigate through their radionuclide therapy that includes lutetium Lu 177 vipivotide tetraxetan (Pluvicto), lutetium Lu 177 dotatate (Lutathera), Radium 223 (Xofigo) and other numerous clinical trials on different phases. Responsibilities include intake of new patient referral, setting up patient's treatment dates, ordering treatment doses (via Novartis, Cardinal Health), coordinating needed labs & scans (internal/external facilities) assessing their readiness for radioligand therapy, patient & family nursing teaching, following up + reviewing lab results and scans, assessing patient post-treatment a day after and a week after, and coordinating their RLT with their internal & external oncologists. We act as a personal guide and advocate for patients and their families as they move through the complex healthcare system. Our primary goal is to remove barriers to care and ensure a seamless, coordinated therapy for advance metastatic prostate cancer & neuroendocrine tumors patients.
Provides specialized care adult patients through insertion and management of their vascular accesses for diagnostics, therapy and treatment in both outpatient and inpatient settings. This includes PIV insertions, midline insertions, and upper arm to lower extremity/mid-thighPICC placements. Part of the responsibility is the overall care management of these venous accesses that includes audits, and managing both site complications and mechanical malfunction of the venous accesses.
