Jan-Karl Burkhardt, MD is a Division Head / Fellowship Director / Associate Professor of Neurosurgery at the University Hospital of Pennsylvania specialized in cerebrovascular surgery. He is board certified in neurosurgery through the European Association of Neurosurgical Societies (FEBNS, Fellow of European Board of Neurosurgical Surgery) and Switzerland (FMH, Federal Department of Home Affairs and Swiss Office of Public Health). Dr. Burkhardt earned his medical degree from the University of Leipzig in Germany and completed neurosurgery residency training and his habilitation (PD) at the University Hospital Zurich (USZ) in Switzerland.
