I bring a dual academic background in Mechanical Engineering from the Technical University of Delft and Business Economics from the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. My career began at Shell, where I held roles in Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, Engineering Management, and Front-End Development across the Netherlands, Turkey, UAE, Iran, Iraq, and Qatar, covering Downstream, Midstream, and Upstream Oil & Gas projects. During a 12-year period outside Shell, I served as Technical Manager in a manufacturing company and as Director of Projects and Director of Business Development in engineering firms in the Benelux and the Middle East. Returning to Shell in 2004, I contributed to major investment initiatives for NAM in The Netherlands, Basrah Gas Company, and the Majnoon FCP project in Iraq, and advised SINOPEC in the Middle East and Qatar Petroleum on oil and gas projects and competency development. These activities also included Brownfield Rehabilitation Projects. Recent projects include the HTDC project for Shin Etsu and the HVO/SAF project for Gunvor Energy in Rotterdam. Since 2016, I have managed due diligence activities across Africa and South America and facilitated courses and workshops on project management topics. I am an APM-registered Project Professional and former Shell Senior Assessor for Level 2 Project Managers, combining technical expertise with leadership in complex, multi-regional projects.
