Looking for a new challenge as of mid-2026. Jan Henk is a medical doctor (MD, PhD) and pilot (PPL FAA, EASA) with postgraduate training in both Global Health and Family Medicine. He has international professional experience in Surinam, Aruba, Tanzania, South Africa, India, Uganda, Sierra Leone and St Eustatius. He knows well how to improvise and work in resource constrained settings. He is a strong believer of local capacity building and increasing self-reliance following his experience abroad and as founder and chairman of the iSTEPup foundation (not for profit). Health systems, public health, family medicine, expedition medicine, aviation, education and sustainability are his areas of interest.
