My childhood interest in history and mythology inspired me to take my course of AB Diplomacy and International Relations, where I discovered my strength of interpersonal skills. Four years of studying Southeast Asian cultures and its politics taught me the irreplaceable lesson of culture as a form of diplomacy. Together with my academic performance, I complement this with my active participation in school projects related to my field, most notably my rigorous participation in Model United Nations (MUN) conferences. After 34 MUN conferences (and counting), I have achieved a fair number of awards for my work. If there's one thing from these experiences, it takes ambition, smart work and resilience to become the best. After succeeding and failing in many occasions, I learned the journey is just as important as the destination and it takes these skills to fully understand both how you think and how others do as well. Currently, I am currently working in the Department of Transportation where I further improve my policy making skills. My long-term goal is to establish a successful career in the foreign service, either in the political or security sector. When I'm not working or finding more opportunities to achieve my long-term goals, I enjoy reading a variety of books, ranging from management to history and even fiction. Some of my favorite titles include the Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, the Art of War by Sun Tzu and Jack: Straight From The Gut. I aim to be my best in any occasion and continue to seek more opportunities to serve .
