One week of work experience at Virgin Atlantic thanks to Arkwright Engineering Scholarships. An amazing opportunity, and a week filled with tea breaks and av-gas. I was allowed to open the emergency slide on an A350, and subsequently fly off the end in front of an audience of employees. Midweek an A330 neo turned up for an engine change, and it was my job to start the engine from inside the cockpit to run checks. A week to remember.
Part time Summer work as a watersport instructor on the River Thames in Reading. I take groups of people of any age out onto the water to improve their skills and let them have fun safely. Leadership is an important skill to have when trying to keep a group of up to 40 people safe.
