About

I am a Group Leader and Deputy Head of Unit at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) in Rome, where my research team explores the epigenetic mechanisms that shape development, health, and disease. Our work combines (epi)genomics, developmental biology and tech/dev to uncover how epigenetic information is established, how it functions, and how it is transmitted. In parallel, I serve as co-Founder and interim Chief Scientific Officer of Epitome Therapeutics, a biotech company pioneering Epigenome Editing technologies. Our mission is to redefine how the epigenome can be precisely programmed to transform disease understanding and create novel therapeutic strategies by tuning gene expression. Key interests: Epigenetics | Genome & Epigenome Editing | Developmental Biology | Gene Regulation | CRISPR | Biotechnology Innovation | Therapeutic Development
