James began his career in Boston as a member of an analytics team at The Boston Company, then a subsidiary of American Express. This team later evolved into what became Russell/Mellon Analytics (now Mellon Analytics). Later, in 2001, while at FactSet Research Systems, he earned the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) designation, eventually leaving to pursue start-up opportunities. He became a founding investor and managing executive of Norbury Financial and subsequently COO of ClearMomentum. Married (to the most amazing woman) and father of the two best daughters in the entire world, James has supported the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and the Epiphany School through participation in the Boston Marathon, Dublin Marathon, and three-time Pan Mass Challenge rider. He holds a degree in Economics from Kenyon College where he played water polo and golf.
