Portland, Oregon Metropolitan Area
Since his graduation from the Northwestern School of Law of Lewis and Clark College in 1996, James has dedicated himself to advocating for those in need, and to protecting the individuals rights of Oregonians. Beginning his legal career as a public defender in Portland, James quickly gained a reputation at the courthouse for intelligence, integrity, and effectiveness in front of a jury. Ten years of representing the indigent accused allowed him to hone his trial skills in an environment which only a busy criminal practice can provide. James then made the transition to civil law, where he has advocated for injured clients for the last fifteen years. Although most cases settle prior to trial, you can rest assured that James has the experience where it counts. . .in the courtroom. In his spare time, he enjoys exploring the Oregon wilderness with his family. Also an avid fan of sports car racing and licensed race driver, James volunteers as a Safety Marshall and High Performance Driving Instructor at Portland International Raceway, and is a Past President of Cascade Sports Car Club, the oldest amateur road racing organization in the Pacific Northwest.
