Being capable isn't enough. Many professionals already have the skills, experience, and intent to achieve. But what they're capable of doesn't always show up when it matters. Confidence wobbles. Decisions take longer than they should. Hard conversations get delayed. What we mean to do doesn't always match what we actually do. These aren't skill issues. They're about the beliefs and blindspots underneath. How people think and show up when it counts. That's the work I do. I lead the Internal Coaching Team at Canva, supporting professionals and leaders across ANZ, US, Europe, and SEA. Over the past 7 years, I've worked with hundreds of people who are already talented, driven, and good at what they do. Coaching helps them get out of their own way so the person in the room matches the potential on the page. Whether that's stepping into a bigger role, finally having the conversation they've been avoiding, or learning to lead in a way that actually feels like them. My role spans coaching, program design, and leading a global team of Internal Coaches. Together, we deliver 1:1 coaching, group programs, and team development at scale. The goal? Bring out the best in people so capability turns into confident, consistent performance.
Canva is a world class design company on a mission to empower the world to design. Part of it's magic is that Canva cares about people being empowered to do the best work of their lives, and that’s an excellent description of my job here. From 1:1 coaching and team facilitation, to running workshops and contributing to people development initiatives, my day is full helping others (in the words of Canva) “set crazy big goals and making them happen”. It is in this role that I have deepened my skill for end-to-end strategic thinking i.e. turning ideas into strategy, plans, projects, and then executing them into end results. Proudest achievements: ⭐Coaching hundreds and hundreds of incredible humans. ⭐Having contributed to the early designs and delivery of Canvas “coach-as-manager” program “Coaching Essentials”. This program co-piloted by the Internal Coaching team and Canva U team has since evolved to become Canva’s foundational program for all coach/managers at Canva. ⭐Having contributed to the design and delivery of Canvas D&I “Unstoppable Me” Program for the Engineering specialty. This is a program designed by the Internal Coaching team to help women in engineering feel more confident and empowered to step into leadership positions, and the feedback to date has been outstanding.
Developmental Edge is a training, coaching, and mentoring company with a mission to help development, executive and life coaches get more clients, start their business and upgrade their coaching skills. My role at Developmental Edge was co-founder, head trainer, and lead coach. My co-founder and I were responsible for everything from marketing and sales, to program design, operations and delivery. It is in this role that I deepened the many skills of entrepreneurship, but particularly personal leadership and accountability i.e. having the work ethic to do what it takes to get the job done in an environment where the buck started and stopped with me. Proudest Achievements: ⭐31 5-star reviews on Google. ⭐Designing and launching our flagship program “Launchpad”. I got to work with several groups of incredible people and help instil in them the confidence and skills to launch their businesses.
The Coaching Room is a provider of evolutionary developmental coaching and training. In my time at The Coaching Room I was a director, and the lead facilitator and coach for our internationally recognised coach training (Meta-Coach Training System) and public leadership programs. It is in this role that I became very skilled at public speaking, 1:1 coaching, workshop design, delivery, and facilitation. Proudest Achievements: ⭐I became one of only 8 other people in the world to meet the very strict and comprehensive benchmarks required to certify as a licensed Meta-Coach trainer. ⭐I led a team who managed the logistics and operational delivery of all of the company’s public programs. ⭐I personally coached, trained, and facilitated leadership development with a very diverse range of clients including Fiji Airways, KPMG Australia, Defence and Civil Aviation Authority, Bio-Rad, Milward-Brown Vermeer and John Deere.
NuYu was a health retreat, focused on fitness, weight-loss, and well-being. In my time at NuYu I was the manager of the Hawkesbury location. Responsible for managing a team of employees and contractors, liaising with vendor partners, and running and coordinating the day to day operation of the Hawesbury retreat. It is in this role that I deepened my people leadership skills, learned the value of real-time feedback, having growth, development, and performance conversations and managing conflict between others. Proudest Achievements: ⭐The human stories. We helped hundreds of people transform their lives. Some losing 15-30 kgs over the course of their journey with us, others drastically improving health conditions and fitness, again others rehabilitating injuries. It was a moving experience.
Newell Palmer is a privately owned strictly fee-for-service financial advisory, renowned for providing advice and guidance without favour, and protection without compromise. My first professional job out of university, I played the role of paraplanner and adviser support. It is in this role that I deepened my skill and appreciation for drawing insights out of data and using that to inform decisions and strategic recommendations for clients. Proudest Achievements: ⭐Managed the company’s transition from CRM platform Visiplan to a cloud based CRM platform Xplan ⭐Using my newly developed skill for data, I successfully pitched to the Directors and helped implement a proposition that involved moving our clients from one platform to another, saving them over $93k in fees as a result.
