Partnered with the CEO and Board to double revenue and workforce while driving the organization to record profitability. Built and transformed the Finance function, reducing days to close by half, cutting the cash cycle in half, and enabling Finance to operate as a true business partner. Redesigned the shared services model, improving efficiency and scalability across the enterprise. Expanded responsibilities to include CIO and Head of Digital Transformation, leading multiple enterprise-wide initiatives that modernized systems and strengthened decision support. Spearheaded the global implementation of Oracle Cloud ERP, creating a modern digital foundation for growth, operational excellence, and improved governance.
Restructured the division into three regions and two centers of excellence, aligning Finance to the new model and delivering material savings. Transformed working capital through improved retention releases, reduced WIP and inventory, tighter creditor management, and accelerated cash collections. Structured special-purpose financing to build, own, and operate gas compression facilities in West Texas. Enhanced governance with consistent processes, stronger documentation, and deeper Finance review of projects.
Streamlined the business portfolio, focusing on strategic markets in Canada Rail & Transit and Middle East District Cooling, while divesting non-core operations in France and India. Resolved commercial challenges, delivering six consecutive quarters of consistent EBIT and improved cash flow, exceeding business goals in 2016 and 2017. Restructured the Finance function, generating cost savings and strengthening operational support. Implemented new forecasting and budgeting processes, driving financial transparency and discipline.
Delivered record financial performance in FY2014 and guided the business through the market downturn caused by falling oil prices in 1H 2015. Led integration with SNC-Lavalin (Kentz), absorbing Finance functions across U.S. entities and co-leading the capture of acquisition-related cost synergies. Developed and secured approval for a strategic investment plan for Valerus, including funding of strategic inventory and build–own–operate projects. Improved efficiency by reducing days to close, implementing a weekly cash forecasting process, and introducing working capital forecasting tools for enhanced visibility.
Provided Finance leadership for the carve-out, sale, and divestiture of Valerus Field Solutions to Kentz (SNC-Lavalin). Directed strategic planning and corporate capitalization, including acquisitions, divestitures, MLP IPO preparation, debt restructuring, and international project financing. Structured and evaluated transactions and development projects to support business growth and portfolio optimization. Spearheaded the budgeting process for revenue, EBIT, and capital expenditures, embedding stronger financial discipline.
Led investment thesis, valuation, due diligence, and ongoing management of a $250M greenfield midstream project, including pipeline, treating, and compression facilities. Conducted valuation and financial modeling for a 50% joint-venture interest, supporting a midstream management team. Managed debt covenants and directed divestiture of assets within a $1B project financing structure for a natural gas–fired power generation portfolio.
