Update: To reduce the increasingly divisive political content on LinkedIn, I’ll unfollow anyone sharing or engaging with it—regardless of viewpoint. LinkedIn’s mission is to connect the world’s professionals to make them more productive and successful. I don’t believe political agendas contribute to that goal. About me: As a senior business leader in renewables, oil and gas, civil engineering, shipbuilding, defence and LNG, I bring over 20 years’ experience directing all aspects of business activity—including corporate development, business transformation, sales, engineering, procurement and supply chain management, fabrication, cost control, and commissioning. Combining commercial acumen, creativity and critical thought allows me to apply subject-matter expertise to design and deliver excellence in engineering products and services. I offer extensive experience overseeing complex and high-value bid tenders and end-to-end project management, including controlling profit and loss, procurement, project costs, and risk management. Feedback from peers and executive-level colleagues indicates that I am a positive and personable leader with the ability to negotiate solutions to issues; solve problems thoughtfully and efficiently; lead and implement innovation and change; and make tough decisions where required. I place high value on listening to understand, nurturing talent, and working collaboratively across teams and sites to achieve shared goals.

With responsibility for managing all operational aspects of the North East area. Developing a 1,000m2 workshop as a fabrication facility, having already created and built up the equipment engineering section. My achievements in this role to date have included tendering for >£60m business development opportunities within ten months, as well as establishing an internal CRM system and the supply chain for mechanical, electrical and control equipment design. Previously “Equipment Director” for Texo I successfully applied SPIN techniques to develop concept design for four new patented inventions, and enhanced estimating methods, support documents and tender documents for larger value tenders.
Operationally, this role involved directing the work of 40 Project Directors, PMs, engineering managers, engineers, draftsmen, procurement, commercial and tendering engineers, sales, service engineers/offshore operators across three UK offices. I managed processes of procurement and fabrication and developed after-sales and operational support service, and am proud to have overseen delivery of products such as the heavy lifting tool EPCC (600-1800t) Gripper arm EPCC, sub-sea piling template EPCC, O&M of davits and sub-sea templates and handling systems. The role also gave me the opportunity to innovate in the design of new equipment and solutions in Structural Steel, Hydraulics, Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation systems to enhance safety and speed of off-shore operations.
In this role, I provided EPC support to offshore asset owners for the survey, design, approval, fabrication and installation of upgrades and new equipment on their fleet. This involved managing the activity of c.20 project managers, engineers and draftsmen in renewables, oil and gas, and marine and subsea markets in projects including accommodation design, FPSO module design, semi-sub buoyancy design and procurement, and a range of sea-fastening and vessel mods.
