Selected to take charge as CIO to adopt next-gen technologies and reduce cost overruns, stabilise and restructure teams, and increase focus on integrated technologies such as CRM, CPQ, Warehouse / Yard / Manufacturing Shop Floor barcoding solutions, Quality Management Systems, Document Management, business intelligence that delivered higher business return. • Designed and delivered IT strategy & multi-year roadmap for complex federated business structure with centralised and decentralised functions. • Managed 3rd party software and consultancy vendors, negotiated license agreements and rehosted Oracle EBS. • Modernized IT department to cloud-ready product focused agile continuous delivery teams, implementing agile portfolio management and quarterly PI planning to scale across teams and improve integrated solution delivery. • Established Business relationship management function alongside product managers to develop and manage IT roadmap and prioritisation.
Recruited to develop a holistic strategy from both a technology and business architecture perspective. Worked on several ageing business-critical custom applications with duplication and siloed data. • Improved software vendor contract management, removed duplicate applications, identified major risk areas by implementing an Application Portfolio Management System. • Modelled (customer journey mapping, value stream mapping) business units that were functionally different from the traditional equipment sales and rental business, mainly service-based businesses heavy in field (Wellsite) services. • Developed a roadmap to enhance the technology footprint of ERP and custom rental application with field service, CRM, modern mobile workflow & data capture solutions. • Initiated strategic initiatives targeting improvements to enterprise systems gaps and risks, including the modernisation plan for ageing custom technologies and the implementation of Customer and Field Service applications, CRM and CPQ. • Established continuous learning and innovation labs targeting both business engagement techniques such as design thinking, customer journey mapping, business relationship management and modern technologies (IoT, Mobile, RPA, BPM, chatbots).
• Managed team and project resources, project financial management (cost estimates and budget forecasting, tracking actual spend Vs plan) and vendors. • Facilitated business design workshops and fit-gap assessments. • Established dedicated product management team to manage cross-project core platform development and roadmap. • Implemented Lean/Agile Kanban through SDLC along with Heijunka planning for continuous delivery of features. • Initiated global design sessions for each business in the segment. Implemented JD Edwards across all North American operations and regional multi-business unit deployments in Europe, Middle East, Asia Pacific and South America. • Implemented robust master data management governance and data conversion methodologies that had been causing many issues in the initial year of implementations. • Reorganised and implemented an AMS offshore support model and started implementing the agile and portfolio/program management processes. • Established culture of continuous learning supported by the establishment of internal book clubs, knowledge-sharing workshops, vendor workshops, user group subscriptions and local conferences.
Managed technical team supporting a network of approx 250 office-based and remote users, including 25 offices spread over 18 countries. Managed the maintenance, development and integration of Andergauge business systems.
