With more than 17 years of experience in the engineering and construction industry, I currently serve as Director of Operations at Exyte. My expertise includes civil engineering, project management, and delivering complex engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) projects. I hold an APMP qualification, further validating my capability in managing intricate projects. Responsibilities include: Management of construction works and associated processes on a nuclear site. Determining the short and long term resource requirements for completion of all works. Assigning roles, tasks and responsibilities necessary for completion of all Ensuring that all works are planned and implemented in line with site procedures and other statutory obligations. Ensuring all sections of my works have inspection and test plans and that all work is carried out in full conformance of quality, safety and environmental systems. Monitoring activities to ensure all works are finished in accordance with the design, drawings, specifications and employers requirements. Managing the identification and resolution of Technical Queries, non-conformance's and concessions. Ensuring that records are kept of additional work and/or delays and ensure the necessary Change Orders/Variation Orders/Compensation Events are agreed and implemented in accordance with NEC3 contracts. Compiling initial budget estimates for works and the development of works programmes. Monitoring cost against proposed works estimates and providing information on Earned Value figures including up dates on out-turn figures such as ETC, EAC, CPI and SPI. I communicate with the senior project team on matters of project control and coordination, providing progress updates that accurately reflect current and forecast cost and schedule details.
Responsibilities included: Identifying, prioritising, designing and delivering civil infrastructure improvement projects on Sellafield site. Evaluating system performance through the regular review of civil inspection reports. Developing asset management programmes by providing information on the aging plant, existing condition assessments and continued condition monitoring. Coordinating the requirements for both short and long term infrastructure services deliverables on site, included in this was the preparation of costed bid-proposals with an appropriate and viable delivery solution. Developing initial work specifications and business cases for minor projects on site up to the value of £10 million this included developing the functional specifications and work scope definition, project work breakdown structures, project schedules, risk plans and cost management plans. I provided daily support to maintenance teams, integrated work management and other projects that required advice or technical expertise with regard the system. I as responsible for undertaking regular system walk downs to identify system problems and initiate appropriate corrective actions. I supervised sub-contractors to ensure all works were delivered on time and to the budget.
