About

James is an experienced macroeconomist and economic modeller. With a background in using large scale econometric models for forecasting, James has for the last 5 years been working on the economics of climate change. James is now leading Bain’s Energy Modelling team and co-creator of Intersect - Bain's proprietary best-in-class dynamic computable general equilibrium model, used to analyse the energy transition and the path to net zero. This involves marketing the model to potential clients, while working with the modelling team to ensure the model continues to develop and deliver marketable insights to Bain’s clients. He holds a PhD in applied macro-econometric modelling from the University of London and was recently awarded a first in Natural Science from the Open University to support his interest the economics of climate change and climate change mitigation. Together with Felicity Hannon, James won the 2021/22 SPE Rybczynski Prize Essay for a piece entitled "Can the clean energy transition boost global growth?"
