A chemist by training, and aspiring to help others on their life journeys.
• Under the supervision of Dr Gilles Gasser and Dr Kevin Cariou • Investigated the methodology to derivatize existing antifungal drugs for the improvement of their antifungal activities • Obtained Organometallic Lab skills: analysis of spectroscopic data such as 19F NMR, and utilisation of HPLC for purification • Wrote an academic report to communicate the motivation for research and development in antifungal drugs, and present the scientific findings for the activities of these novel drugs • Aim to publish methodology and biological studies in the future
• Under the supervision of Professor Tamio Hayashi • Developed novel rhodium-catalyzed asymmetric arylation reaction • Mastered Organic Chemistry lab skills: air- and moisture-sensitive reaction optimisation, and troubleshooting • Organised literature review and research findings into a full academic report and delivered an oral presentation
• Coordinated an overseas trip to CERN and surrounding areas for a group of 16 participants • Oversaw three other overseas trips organized by the Club to USA, UK and Sweden • Streamlined the system for scholars to plan their overseas trips • Established new connections with overseas partners and reconnected previous partners
