As a spatial data scientist, I aim to leverage data analytics and AI to address pressing societal and environmental challenges. My academic journey includes a PhD in Data Analytics for Society from the University of Liverpool, where I also had the opportunity to collaborate with the Alan Turing Institute. My Master's degree is in Geographic Data Science, also from Liverpool. My work has focused on applying AI across diverse domains, from environmental monitoring to understanding complex human-environment interactions and enhancing societal resilience. This has led to collaborations with research institutes globally, including the Earth Observation Research Centre in Queensland, Australia. A notable experience was leading a project in the remote Caribbean islands of Panama, funded by the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute, where we developed a multi-platform toolkit to characterise beach dynamics. Currently, I serve as a researcher at BSC, where I coordinate REALLOCATE, an EU Horizon-funded project. In this role, I collaborate with cities and mobility experts to build truly sustainable, person-centric, and future-proof urban environments. I'm always interested in connecting with professionals passionate about innovative data solutions for a better future.
• Technical lead on a €12.6M EU Horizon project delivering geospatial analytics for urban-environment and mobility applications, responsible for analytical strategy and production-ready data outputs. • Designed and maintained scalable geospatial data pipelines integrating satellite imagery, environmental indicators, and human activity datasets using reproducible engineering practices. • Developed and validated machine learning and deep learning models for spatial forecasting, balancing predictive performance, interpretability, and operational deployment constraints. • Designed experimental workflows to assess model performance and distinguish genuine predictive signal from statistical artefacts. • Collaborated with planners, engineers, and policy specialists to translate scientific outputs into operational decision-support tools. • Continued research collaboration and dissemination of results through conferences and peer-reviewed literature
