I qualified from DIT Bolton Street in 1995 with a Diploma in Architectural Technology with Merit. I worked in Architectural Practice for 10 years in many different sectors including Mixed use development master planning, Retail Shell & Fit-out, Restaurant Fit-out, Hotel & Leisure, Car Park development, Multi Unit Residential and One Off Houses, new build and refurbishment. In 2005 I moved into the field of Project Management, I worked directly for large organisations such as Q-Park and Dunnes Stores and also in consultancy with Lafferty Project Management. I have a wide variety of experience gained over 19 years in the construction industry, including planning, procurement, design, detailed design, value engineering, cost control, development cost analysis, construction quality control, programme management, renewable technologies and energy efficient construction. I am a technologist member of the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland. I have a hands on style of project management and a proven record of successful delivery, within budget and time constraints with a particular focus on Quality.
Together with my wife, Hazel Maxwell MRIAI, a registered architect with 9 years experience, we have started up our sister businesses of Maxwell Architects and Maxwell PM. Our businesses are built on our combined experience in excess of 25 years in a wide variety of development types, including Retail, Office Fit-out, Hotel & Leisure, Restaurant Fit-out, car park development, refurbishment including "business as usual" delivery, multi-unit residential and one off houses. Our goal is to provide clients with a quality service by listening to and understanding their requirements, identifying and communicating a focussed response and delivering their development on time, within budget and with high levels of design and build quality.

I returned to Q-Park Ireland in 2010 as Project Manager on various refurbishments, alteration and fit-out projects ranging in value from €100k to €2M including sites in Dublin, Cork City and Galway. My responsibilities included all aspects of the projects including scope & budget preparation and approval, appointment of consultants and contractors, briefing, programme development and management, project realisation and completion, snagging and quality & cost control. I was particularly pleased with the completion of the Setanta Car Park refurbishment, in Dublin 2, in the first half of 2012. Together with a dedicated team of consultants and contractors, we took a dilapidated 40 year old basement car park with outmoded services, leaking structures and little or no finishes and transformed it into a bench mark parking facility all within budget, programme and with the highest levels of quality achieved. In all my roles to date I have never seen as much positive feedback from customers as witnessed following the Setanta refurbishment.
