I bring over 24 years of extensive experience in the Renewables, Safety & compliance, Gas, Heating & Plumbing industry, demonstrating a strong foundation in technical expertise and managerial acumen. My journey began with completing a comprehensive NVQ apprenticeship in heating & plumbing with a local building and renovation company. Subsequently, I honed my skills with British Gas, completing NVQ3 Domestic gas maintenance and ACS certification. Seeking professional growth, I transitioned to Scottish & Southern Energy (SSE), starting as a Service & Breakdown engineer and ascending to a Technical Supervisor role. My entrepreneurial spirit led me to establish my own Gas, Heating & Plumbing business, where I excelled in securing and maintaining social housing and insurance based contracts, showcasing proficiency in both the technical and managerial aspects of the industry. In response to the evolving energy landscape, I proactively embraced the realm of renewable energy and Low-carbon heating. I equipped myself with expertise in heat pump installation, maintenance, low-temperature system design and MCS accreditation, ultimately contributing to Octopus Energy’s initial initiatives in Air source heat pumps and low-carbon heating. Further enhancing my skill set with City & Guilds Level 3 Domestic energy assessment and Retrofit. To continue my upward trajectory, I assumed the role of Gas, Heating & Plumbing Manager at Silva Homes, overseeing a compliance portfolio of over 10,000 homes and managing a large customer base. In this capacity, I enhanced Gas compliance for the organization and implemented impactful changes, including process improvements for Health & Safety, quality assurance, compliance, customer service, policies & procedures, business planning, budget management, and designing and implementing an engineer friendly cloud-based mobile database. My strategic initiatives led to successful preparation and navigation through Gas Safe and external gas operational compliance audits and an award for service of excellence. Following this I strategically manoeuvred into an independent organisational supportive role. Assisting recognised energy companies and large housing associations. Most recently assisting SNG and its 85,000+ assets and customers with identifying their renewable assets and implementing policies, procedures for their long term maintenance and compliance.
