Award winning Toronto-based artist, member of the 7a*11d Toronto Performance Art Collective, and alumnus of The Roundtable Residency and Buddies In Bad Times Emerging Creators Unit. I’ve exhibited/performed at Xpace Cultural Centre, Trinity Square Video, the Toronto Feminist Art Conference, FADO Performance Art Centre, the 7a*11d International Festival of Performance Art, Montreal's Festival Phénomena, the Art Gallery of Hamilton, and the Art Gallery of Ontario.     Curatorial research and selection for the biennial 7a*11d International Festival of Performance Art (running since 1997) Liaising with artists to facilitate their performance and presence during the festival, sourcing space, materials, travel and accommodations if need. Grant writing and fielding co-sponsorships to secure funding for the festival, covering artist fees, travel and accommodations, photo and video documentation, image rights fees, supplies, venue costs, etc. Administrative tasks such as managing email communications, meeting scheduling, and minute taking. Video editing for archival and social media purposes. Graphic design work for programming assets and publication design. Communications over social media, cross posting between Instagram and Facebook, designing promotional campaigns for festival and off year programming.

    James Knott is an emerging, Toronto-based artist, member of the 7a*11d Toronto Performance Art Collective, and graduate of OCAD University, Their practice spans performance, music, and moving images, employing tactics of self-mythologizing as a means to bridge personal narratives into communal ones. Lately their work has oscillated between more gesturally based performance actions, to highly ornate and layered video compositions and music, to explore themes of queer and trans identity, and archetypes of femininity, masculinity, and desire. An alumnus of The Roundtable Residency and the Buddies In Bad Times Emerging Creators Unit, they’ve exhibited/performed at Xpace Cultural Centre, Trinity Square Video, the Toronto Feminist Art Conference, FADO Performance Art Centre, the 7a*11d International Festival of Performance Art, Montreal's Festival Phénomena, the Art Gallery of Hamilton, and the Art Gallery of Ontario.
