After graduating with a Master's in Applied Linguistics, my first role gave me experience in conducting market research for major international brands and innovating Excel sheets to drastically reduce time and improve accuracy in analyses. I've just taken up a new role as an Associate Consultant for Horizon Strategy, which is an exciting new step that will allow me to focus my attention on my passion for quantitative analysis! I undertook a wide range of both qualitative and quantitative research during my degrees, and am specialised and highly trained in statistical testing. Alongside my research as part of my degrees, I've also carried out independent research projects. This includes two projects presented at ICUR 2020 and 2021 (International Conference for Undergraduate Research), which involved planning, applying for ethical approval, carrying out the experiments, gathering and analysing the data, and presenting it to an international cross-disciplinary audience. I've also worked as part of the Warwick MITN (Migration, Identity, and Translation Network) as part of a research cluster investigating language learning motivations during the COVID-19 pandemic. With my team, I presented these findings at WICAL 2021 (Warwick International Conference for Applied Linguistics), to an audience ranging from undergraduates to leaders in the field.
