I have discovered a particular interest within the areas of networking & infrastructure and I am looking for opportunities to gain practical experience outside of my apprenticeship. A temporary position to tide me over whilst seaching for my next role. This was a very enjoyable job, working as part of a team to organise and deliver mail and parcels. I had to quickly learn how to use a PDA correctly, while follwing the company procedures in order to make deliveries to company standards. I had daily interaction with numerous customers which has greatly improved my confidence when speaking with new people.
I have undertaken work on a self-employed basis for Swallows Jaguar, as listed below, and also Alfaholics. I am also still working on a sub-contract basis for my previous employer, Bensport Ltd, rebuilding Bentley differentials, engines and working on customer cars.
A short term position at Swallows Jaguar, repairing Jaguar, Land Rover & Aston Martin models from the 1970s through to modern day. In my short time with them, I performed a wide variety of tasks: Servicing. Brakes - discs, pads, bleeding. Suspension - shock absorbers, springs, suspension arms, air suspension, ARB linkages, poly bush fitting. Steering - tie rods and track rod ends. Engine - sensors, injectors, spark plugs, coil packs, gasket replacement, thermostat and other cooling system work, exhaust manifolds, air con pipes, power steering pipes. Electrical - replacement of various exterior and interior sensors, switches & modules, as well as using the diagnostic equipment to then communicate with the vehicle to ensure fault codes are rectified. Tyre fitting. I also learned how to use the four wheel alignment equipment and how to adjust the alignment of customer, sales and race vehicles. This was on a self-employed basis.
Creating bespoke, hand built Bentleys based on the classic R-Type/MK6 chassis. I was involved in the mechanical aspects of this, such as rebuilding engines and gearboxes to fine tolerances. Additionally, I was (and still am) one of a handful of people in the UK with the knowledge to rebuild the differentials. I was also tasked with dismantling, inspecting and rebuilding other components; such as shock absorbers, brakes and chassis lubrication systems. I regularly used various hand and electrical tools, shot blasting and aqua blasting machines. I carried out technical tasks on other classic cars, such as E-Type Jaguars and pre-war Citroens, among others. This position came to an end due to the effects of the Covid pandemic.
