Leading the mechanical engineering function and its integration with production to deliver high-quality, production-ready hardware systems. Responsible for managing the engineering team, driving design and development from concept through to production, and ensuring strong Design for Manufacturability (DFM) across all products. Oversee CAD design, system-level mechanical architecture, and continuous improvement of designs to enhance build efficiency, reduce rework, and improve consistency. Act as the key link between engineering and the factory floor, ensuring designs are practical, issues are resolved at the source, and production aligns with engineering intent. Provide scoped oversight of mechanical production outcomes, supporting assembly, integration, and quality while collaborating closely with production leadership. Focused on improving processes, tooling, and build methods to create scalable, repeatable systems. Drive clear communication, visibility, and reporting across engineering activities, ensuring work is structured, trackable, and aligned with business priorities. This role is evolving toward a more focused engineering leadership position as production functions mature and become more structured.
Working in the test lab at Stryker Cork involved conducting experiments, evaluating medical equipment, and ensuring products meet safety and quality standards. This role required setting up testing equipment, collecting data, and collaborating with teams to uphold high-quality standards.
