• Shadowed a senior engineer and was involved in a range of projects in several different phases of completion. • Concentrated on sustainable urban drainage design for new development sites including housing estates and schools. • My work encompassed the production of numerous design drawings with an emphasis on using AutoCAD alongside calculation software to analyse and check my hand calculations. • Gained experience in construction contracts and managed some cost estimates and budget analysis for the company. • Communicated with clients, architects, contractors and environmental agencies through project meetings, email and telephone. • Contributed to the management of various projects including the development of Sheffield Castlegate Regeneration.
• Applied and developed skills learnt at university to calculations and checked other engineers’ calculations. Learning how the design process works, I contributed to scheme designs for a hospital, two schools and a crematorium. • Using design software such as AutoCad and MicroDrainage, I marked up drawings to be sent to contractors and architects.
