Undertook a summer placement as an engineer in the quality assurance department at Pegler Yorkshire. I performed a project looking at improving the manufacturing process of TRV wax elements and reducing wastage in production. The project involved both process engineering and quality control. I undertook training in six sigma principles including lean and process mapping in order to better understand the manufacturing process. Project management alongside engineering skills were required for this placement. A report was produced outlining the findings of the project and handed over to continue the improvement process at the end of my placement.
