As Chief M-Commerce Officer, I deployed and managed M-Pesa with Vodacom Tanzania for almost 10 years and developed and deployed M-Pitesan with Ooredoo in Myanmar. Extensive experience collaborating with development agencies such as Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation on large-scale financial inclusion and payment interoperability projects in Africa. Currently, an Operations Executive leading Fin-tech transformation initiatives across multiple regional markets with Airtel Africa HQ based in Dubai. My passion is to push back financial access boundaries by establishing inclusive payment infrastructure that is relevant and affordable to all customers while maintaining profitability to ensure sustained service delivery. Airtel Money
Leading the team to establish and deliver a mobile money service which includes national money transfers (OTC and Wallet), online payments and QR based retail payments.
Responsible for delivering the mobile money solution M-Pesa at Vodacom Tanzania. The service contributes over 20% of the companies service revenue and includes national money transfers, bill payments, international money transfers, savings and loans. Following the initial launch in 2008 I have been responsible for setting up the service, driving the establishment of the agent network and ensuring the mobile payments solutions remains the leading mobile financial service within Tanzania.
Responsible for the strategic product roadmap to ensure Vodacom expands on the national money transfer service. Including linkages with banks, MFIs and other fintech service providers within Tanzania.
