My professional goals are to: 1) Work with people to become their healthiest self. Through personal training, workout programming and nutrition consultations, I love to help people feel more healthy and confident in their bodies. 2)Create sustainable systems with organizations focusing on nutrition, fitness, and/or food access through grant writing, project management, and program implementation.
Create and implement individualized workout programming for clients. Mainly working with 40+ age range. Ability to alter movements and exercises based on individual needs, goals and real-time feedback in session.
Teach group strength training classes and work with personal training clients in Detroit.
As an Americorps I helped create the job training program-Small Batch Detroit which serves two purposes: 1. Supply high paying wages and valuable culinary trainings to alumni of our after school program 2. Increase product revenue to attain program profitability and sustainability for Detroit Food Academy Over the past 3 years I have been developing a program that supplies working hours to Detroit youth (16-24) producing their own snacks and foods to sell in retail outlets and local markets. The program has grown to serve as a training ground for our alumni to learn tangible work skills and obtain valuable certifications in the culinary world to lead to greater job growth down the line. www.detroitfoodacademy.com www.smallbatchdetroit.com Tasks associated with my position: Develop structure and design for program to best benefit our students and alumni Create and foster partnerships and opportunities to diversify revenue streams for our nonprofit organization- Detroit Food Academy Manage a 20+ person workforce consisting of current high schoolers (Fellowship program) through 25 year old alumni managers. Account management, new product design, marketing management, customer service, e-commerce management of 3 different food businesses- interconnecting under our nonprofit (Mitten Bites, Slow Jams Jam, Detroit Pop Shop) Performed the following roles, and created structures around roles for Managerial positions for alumni: Inventory and Purchasing Manager Kitchen/Production Manager Retail/Demo Manager Market Manager I also Instruct and Administer Managerial Servsafe courses for student workers, conduct 1-on-1 goal setting meetings, and teach intro Nutrition courses to the Fellows and Alumni
I teach Managerial ServSafe courses to Detroit area business owners and their employees to increase food safety and responsibility of the business. I provide 8 hours of classroom facilitation as well as administration of testing for ServSafe Food Protection Managers. I am currently creating a program with a local nonprofit to offer this course at a heavily discounted rate for small businesses and their employees to benefit both the individual businesses as well as the nonprofit itself (receives portion of the course cost)
I have contributed monthly articles and recipes for a Dietitian's newsletter to clients and the public. I am currently cultivating recipes and nutrition material for a 365 day nutrition App.
