Hello, my name is Jacob Scherzer, and I am a junior at The Ohio State University studying Applied Mathematics and Data Analytics. I challenge myself through the most rigorous coursework available, conduct research at the ElectroScience Laboratory on advanced methods for simulating electromagnetics, and lead a team making a graphing calculator with linear algebra capabilities. In addition, I take on projects that integrate the skills and knowledge gained from these experiences to deliver the highest quality work possible for complex real world challenges.
Researched into new ways to incorporate the Tensor Train (TT) decomposition format for Finite-Difference Time-Domain (FDTD) simulations. Created an original theorem related to TT-FDTD and algorithm to handle noise in TT-FDTD, with numerical experiments to show results.
Tutored students one-on-one from less privileged backgrounds in math ranging from pre-algebra through calculus 2. Helped these students with homework assignments, test preparation, and SAT preparation.
Tutored students one-on-one, one-on-two, or two-on-one in math ranging from kindergarten through 12th grade.
