I compete with my team at buggy racing, a traditional CMU sport in which gravity- and human- powered carbon fiber vehicles with drivers inside are raced on a course around campus. As a mechanic, I help to build, maintain, repair, and race our buggies. I design parts and lead other mechanics to manufacture with composite materials.
As Head Mechanic, I lead new member training and have a say in the general team direction. This involves organizing events for recruitment efforts and representing my team in the buggy community.
At II-VI, I worked on several projects including diagnosing inconsistencies in quality assurance testing. As a result company ordered new parts and altered testing environment. I also architectured a framework for a polishing simulation to aid with nanoscale form corrections.
I implemented acoustic odometry on RadPiper robot to aid in localization for small scale pipes for the Department of Energy. Additionally, I explored different localization methods in a team setting including sound time of flight with ultrasonic sensors.
