For the past four years, I've designed, deployed, and maintained production infrastructure serving real users - without corporate budgets, enterprise tools, or vendor support. Just Linux, open-source software, and a commitment to digital sovereignty. It started with a question: why should my family's communications and data live on someone else's servers? So I built an alternative. Today I run production services spanning email (full SMTP/IMAP stack), real-time communications (XMPP), calendar/contacts (CalDAV/CardDAV), version control (Gitea), VoIP (Asterisk), and distributed storage (MinIO cluster, private IPFS network). These aren't lab experiments - they're operational systems with uptime requirements and real users depending on them daily. CORE INFRASTRUCTURE: - Complete network services: BIND9 DNS, WireGuard VPN, Nginx reverse proxy - Security implementation: Custom PKI, certificate authority, SSL/TLS automation - Containerization & deployment: Docker (custom image builds, compose orchestration, cross-platform deployments) - Database administration: MySQL, SQLite - Development: Python (Flask web apps, MCP servers), Bash scripting for automation WHAT THIS MEANS FOR EMPLOYERS: I've handled every layer of the infrastructure stack. I understand security because I built it from scratch. I troubleshoot effectively because I've had to solve problems without vendor support. I think about reliability, uptime, and user trust because people depend on what I build. Currently pursuing CompTIA Network+ certification and transitioning from warehouse operations into professional IT. I bring operational experience maintaining production systems, a security-first mindset, and proven ability to build reliable infrastructure with limited resources. SEEKING: Junior SysAdmin, IT Support, or DevOps roles where hands-on infrastructure experience and problem-solving capabilities are valued. Particularly interested in environments that appreciate privacy, security, and open-source solutions. Open to connecting with infrastructure professionals, learning from industry experience, and exploring opportunities in systems administration and DevOps.
