Process Control and Automation Design Engineer
Management of business process definitions with engineering and business product owners for the digitilization of project delivery.
Managing the development, adoption and roll-out of the COMOS engineering design tool within the global Hatch structure. - Assisting with the functional definition of engineering disciplines (Process, Mech, Piping, E,C&I) - Managing an internal team of software developers & external consultants to configure the functional definition - Internal adoption drive and client demonstrations - Negotiation of commercial agreements (Global Licensing and Support Strategies) - Integration to 3rd party software and internal common data environment
• Constructed and Commissioned new and existing instrumentation and drives during the Mortimer Furnace upgrade from 18 to 36MW (3months on site). • Commissioned transformer instrumentation and ABB switchgear. • Supervised small wiring teams (2-4 technicians)
• Design and issue P&IDs and Termination diagrams (1DES) for the Furnace 1 and 2 re-build project. • Develop SCADA for new furnace design and layout using the Wonderware toolkit. • Commission instrumentation and control system for two new furnaces (5months on site).
• Part of a team doing analysis on the electromagnetic spectrum of cell phone towers and repeaters across South Africa. • Recorded various performance statistics and general placement of towers and repeaters in the field and documented information for analysis.
