I am an MVS Specialist with over 24 years’ experience providing comprehensive system programming support for z/OS and z/VM environments. This include installation, customization, maintenance, troubleshooting and performance tuning of IBM Mainframe Servers, z/OS, z/VM, Parallel SYSPLEX and numerous ISV products. Additional areas of expertise are MQSeries, RACF, SMP/E and Disaster Recovery planning and execution.
I am currently a Mainframe Specialist with Benta Arabia Consulting Ltd. I am assigned to Riyad Bank in Saudi Arabia as an Mainframe Specialist My main functions are z/OS and z/VM responsibilities • Assist with z/OS and z/VM installation, maintenance, migration and support • Assist with Parallel SYSPLEX implementation and support • Assist with IBM z Series Hardware management, support and upgrade in primary and disaster recovery data center • Provide extensive systems-related troubleshooting using LOGREC, IPCS dump analysis, OMEGAMON/MVS, RMF and GTF traces. Also assist in solving application-related abends using IBM Fault Analyzer • Perform z/OS performance management and tuning using RMF and Omegamon/MVS • Maintain WLM policies for z/OS environments • Assist in z/VM performance management using Velocity • Assist in the performance management using IBM Application Performance Analyzer • Assist Application teams in cost saving initiatives • Assist in IBM and ISV software installation, maintenance, migration and support • Expert in SMP/E installation and maintenance skills • Assist in Mainframe configuration using HCD • Provide assistance to Mainframe Security team • Provide SME support to operations staff, application and technical teams • Train and mentor junior MVS systems programmers
