Freiberg am Neckar, Baden-Württemberg, Germany
I grew up in a small farming town, nestled in the mountains of Utah, USA. Following the completion of an associate degree in electronic and computer technology, I started working as a service technician assembling, troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying equipment used in the pharmaceutical industry. During this time, I continued my education and completed a bachelor's degree in technology management. Shortly thereafter (over 20 years ago), I transferred to Germany and was involved in the project management and sales of new machines for the pharmaceutical industry. Over 15 years ago, I started as the Customer Service Director at Harro Höfliger. At that time, Harro had 11 employees in the customer service department and a yearly customer service revenue of just over €2 million. Since then, as a team and company, we have seen significant growth and the customer service organization has grown to over 300 employees in 13 countries and has a yearly global revenue of approximately €70 million. This growth also led to my title being changed to Vice President of Customer Service in April 2025, and I was added to Harro's extended senior management team. I am very happy in my current position and very much appreciate the team that I work with and the responsibility, trust, flexibility, and ability to independently make decisions that Harro offers me. Currently, a major project that we are working on is expanding our subsidiaries in India and the United States to enable them to have an equivalent service organization as at our headquarters in Germany so that they can provide the same high level of service. As a personal hobby, I have started to learn how to program and have taken first steps with Python, HTML/CSS, JavaScript and C# and enjoy doing that in my spare time. (https://jdheslop.github.io)
