• Conducted 40 home visits with the Attendance Team to find students who were reported as excessively absent and not responding to site staff to improve student engagement and attendance • Delivered Attendance Improvement certificates to 10 students with School Attendance Review Board (SARB) chair • Contacted McKinney-Vento families regarding student attendance and provided resources to support their needs, including school supplies, access to technology, personal hygiene kits, and gift cards for food and clothing • Assisted MV families living in substandard housing with completing the Family Solutions Collaborative application to receive housing supports from Orange County • Identified eligible students as MV and documented communications with MV families on Aeries • Developed English and Spanish needs assessments and provided graphics and information for the SAUSD MV website • Posted homeless education updates and community resources including food distributions in Santa Ana, Latino Health Access COVID-19 supports, School on Wheels services, and School House Connection videos and flyers on the SAUSD MV Instagram page to provide awareness and support for SAUSD staff, students, and families • Collaborated with the Attendance Team, Family and Community Engagement (FACE) liaisons, site administrators and community organizations to provide basic needs resources for MV students • Created handouts and flyers about how to locate students who have not logged into classes, strategies for communicating with MV families, JFK Transportation “WiFi on Wheels”, minimum California high school graduation requirements for qualifying MV, Foster, Juvenile Justice, Migrant, Newcomer, and Military youth, and Assistance League Operation School Bell • Designed an online Spanish presentation for SAUSD College Night targeted to MV families about preparing for college • Supported School on Wheels Coordinator with hosting a Thanksgiving Lunch for 12 MV families at California Lodge & Suites
