Leadership and management of the Carley Consult bid team (including responsibility for coaching, mentoring and CPD) and ownership of Carley Consult's business development function, including key account management and pipeline development. Key experiences include: • Acting as Bid Director for a successful £17m Ministry of Justice prime bid for a regional lot of the CFO Evolution programme in 2023 and 2 prison CIAG contracts worth £5.6m • Acting as Solution Architect to support a national public services provider to develop a delivery solution for a high-priority new business opportunity • Co-authoring the business development strategy for a national charity focused on health and social care • Overseeing key consultancy campaigns, including supporting the delivery of 40 devolved and non-devolved Adult Education Budget bids from November 2022 to March 2023, with two campaigns achieving 100% success in terms of bid wins (a total of 12 bids).
Providing project-based public sector bidding consultancy across education and training, employment and justice services, including leading on business development activity, and coaching and mentoring bid consultants.
Leading the Bid Management team and overseeing all bid development, management, production and governance across the Seetec group of companies. Key achievements: • Achieved 68% success rate (75% on retenders for existing contracts) leading to c£270m of new business wins (total contract value), with an average bid quality score of 80%. • Building a new bid management team and establishing and embedding bid management and governance processes, tools and resources to support the development of effective bid strategies, win themes, bid production practices and governance processes • Improved employee engagement within the bid team by 20% year-on-year through my line management and support.
Responsibility for management of the Business Development team, overseeing the effective and efficient planning, preparation, production and submission of public sector tenders and other sales documents Key achievements: • Oversight of successful bid for £4m young people’s supported housing contract in Lincolnshire • Overhauled business development management and reporting, including repurposing weekly bid management board meetings and leading design and introduction of new bid pipeline tool
Key achievements: • Led Reed's successful bid for Adult Education Budget funding from the Greater London Authority, the first time that Reed had directly been awarded an AEB contract. • Key bid writer for several successful tenders across employability, youth services and health and wellbeing contracts worth c. £17m ACV Responsibilities include: • Oversight and management of complex bid processes from start to finish, including bids across a range of Government departments, such as the Department for Work and Pensions, the Education and Skills Funding Agency, the Ministry of Justice and local authorities. • Leading bid and delivery model development across multiple streams of activity, including USPs and win themes, service user journey, stakeholder and partner engagement, financial and operational modelling, and research and best practice • Internal stakeholder engagement to develop and finalise operational models, and working with internal stakeholders to support mobilisation of new business wins • Engaging potential supply chain partners to broker strategic and operational relationships • Representing Reed in Partnership through industry meetings, networking events and policy briefings to ensure that our bids fully respond to Government's priorities and direction of travel.
