‣ Worked as part of the Warwick Welcome Service to welcome potential undergraduate applicants to the University. ‣ Required high levels of organisation and communication in order to overcome the logistical challenges of several thousand attendees to ensure the Open Day was a success. ‣ Worked within the School of Life Sciences to welcome visitors and organise queues for the multiple talks from the School of Life Sciences and Warwick Medical School, in addition to assisting the academics and staff with any additional tasks.
Working on behalf of the Student Recruitment, Outreach and Admissions Service (SROAS) team to: ‣ Represent the University of Warwick as a Student Ambassador during open days targeted at prospective students and their families. ‣ Represent the University of Warwick during Offer Holder Days for successful applicants to the University. ‣ Represent the University of Warwick during external outreach events and at summer schools within the University. ‣ Deliver workshops as part of the Widening Participation team. ‣ Deliver campus tours to prospective students and their families. Within this role, responsibilities include: ‣ Providing a service tailored to the specific needs of prospective students, parents/carers, young people (primary to Year 13) and teachers ‣ Providing the opportunity to meet and hear about the University from the perspective of current students, where we can answer any questions on study and academic life at the University. ‣ Acting as a positive role model to younger and similarly aged students, while encouraging them to pursue the path into further education.
Worked as an ambassador on the Experience Warwick Year 10 Summer School, working as part of the Night Staff team to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the participants on the scheme overnight, in addition to attending evening activities with participants and ambassadors.
Working as part of an international team of Student Directors based at the University of Warwick, Monash University (Australia) and Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) to: ‣ Design and create bi-monthly issues of ‘Impact’ ICURs student-led newsletter, including organising and attending regular meetings via video conferencing. ‣ Work collaboratively to develop ways of publicising student research opportunities and update social media accounts as required. Working alongside the staff organising team at the University of Warwick to review ICUR 2019 abstract submissions, facilitate training sessions and support students working on internationally linked projects as part of the Compass Programme. Throughout ICUR 2019, delivering the event introduction, chairing internationally linked sessions, introducing staff and student speakers, leading the award ceremony and giving closing remarks. Support and promote the work of the Reinvention Journal, ICUR, International Compass Programme, and IATL.
I was selected to receive funding from the Warwick Undergraduate Research Support Scheme (URSS). I am currently working as an undergraduate project student with the ‘Molecular & Cellular Mechanisms of Phage Therapy’ group at the University of Warwick, on an internationally linked project between the UK and Thailand. Within the project, I am assessing the effect of bacteriophages on Acinetobacter baumannii biofilms, and comparing two different assays used to quantify the biofilms present. Project Title: ‘Overcoming the opportunistic pathogen Acinetobacter baumannii in Thailand - Developing bacteriophages as antimicrobial agents'

‣ Worked as a member of a team of approximately 30 kitchen and waiting staff. ‣ Responsibilities included roles as a waiter, delivering a consistent quality of award-winning food to customers, in addition to working within washrooms to ensure continuous replenishment of crockery and kitchen equipment. ‣ Also dealt with in-person customer complaints and queries, maintaining the restaurant floor to uphold a clean and safe eating environment for customers, to create a pleasant experience and help uphold the values and image the of the business.
