A serving member of the Royal Navy and a seasoned engineering technician, with seven years of experience including roles on the Queen Elizabeth Class aircraft carriers specialising in mission-critical communications and sensor equipment. Responsible for providing equipment availability to RN command to conduct effective tasking and maintain the ship's operational capability. Experienced in managing and coordinating an engineering section, working alongside OEMs to plan and execute engineering projects and work packages. Working on the principle of OMDR, the ability to Operate, Maintain, Diagnose and Repair essential systems utilising technical documentation and schematics. Liaising with MOD Equipment and Platform authorities to coordinate maintenance, system upgrades and defect rectification. Further responsibilities include managing personnel, coaching and mentoring, conducting trials and assessments, implementation of Safe Systems of Work, delivering preventative and correct maintenance routines.
Returning to HMS Queen Elizabeth as a Petty Officer Engineering Technician (POET), as the Internal Network Electronics maintainer. Managing and maintaining an extensive network of over 2000 systems and clients. Responsible for providing and maintaining crucial network infrastructure to support the operational capability and tasking of the unit. Managing the Network Section onboard to plan and organise projects, trials, and maintenance, working alongside OEM’s and shoreside supporting authorities.
Leading Engineering Technician (LET) in the Internal and External Communications section onboard HMS Queen Elizabeth maintaining safety and mission-critical systems. Responsible for managing and conducting maintenance routines in accordance with the Unit Maintenance Management System to provide reliable and effective capability. Working alongside OEMs and shoreside authorities to coordinate and execute engineering projects, trials and assessments. Providing coaching and mentoring to the ETs on the section.
Engineering Technician (ET) onboard HMS Queen Elizabeth, with roles in the communications and navigation sections. Responsible for conducting low-level preventative and corrective maintenance routines, fault diagnosis and defect rectification. Following and implementing Safe Systems of Work, such as LOTO, ShipHaz and Permits to Work. Delivering comprehensive engineering rounds and inspections, assisting the LET during more complex engineering projects and trials. Additional roles include firefighting, damage control and watchkeeping. Gaining further experience during the Carrier Strike Group 2021 (CSG21) deployment operating around the globe alongside NATO allies.
Conducted a role within quality assurance with Baltic Training whilst I awaited my joining date for the Royal Navy. The role involved reviewing and auditing recruitment procedures, verifying documentation, ensuring adherence to legal and ethical guidelines, and providing feedback to enhance company output.
