My research career has followed a winding path, led mostly by my own curiosity into why and how humans do things. My journey started in Ireland with my undergraduate degree in anthropology, which included 1 year studying abroad in the US. Here was my first exposure to the world of user experience and design, which later inspired me to complete a Master's degree in Design Innovation. My research approach is rooted in the ethnographic perspectives of anthropology, combined with design thinking methodologies. I love to uncover insights into user behaviour, and turn these into actionable seeds of innovation and ultimately, real value for real people. Over the past number of years working in SaaS, I have grown my own understanding of design, UX and research, and the value these discipline can bring to product development. I see my role as being a facilitator of discussions, a teller of (user) stories, and an advocate for internal culture change. Mot only making sure the voice of the user is heard, but also that the organisation has the right systems and mindsets in place to benefit and grow from it. 🔬 Plan research projects to address the needs of multiple diverse product teams. 🕵️♂️ Conduct user research (interviews, surveys and testing) to provide actionable insights to stakeholders (product, design, engineering, senior leadership). ⚙️ Contribute to the development of research operations and internal processes (participant recruitment, research repository creation). ♟ Collaborate with stakeholders and product leaders to formulate a research strategy.
👨💻 Assisted lead researchers in the creation of a blended learning framework (courses delivered with a mix of both in-person and online methods) which was implemented in degree programmes at Maynooth University. 🪚 Facilitated and participated in workshops with university professors to help identify the types of learning in their courses and ideate ways how these could be adapted to the blended learning framework.
📈 Assisted clients and potential customers with sales queries while also achieving company sales targets. 📦 Contributed to the logistical operations of the company, ensuring orders were fulfilled and customer issues were addressed.
