Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
Jacinda Sadler is the founder of her eponymous architecture practice. Based in Melbourne/Naarm, she works on a portfolio of private and public commissions ranging from residential homes and mixed-use developments to public spaces and urban masterplans. She brings to each project extensive experience in the building and construction industry, working to create aesthetically striking architecture that is also functional, sustainable and deeply connected to the communities they serve. Projects include the Portsea Surf Life Saving Club, a 130-year-old terrace in Carlton North and the Heritage Streetscape Primary School which received the 2024 People’s Choice Award in the ArchiTeam Awards, for skilfully balancing complex Heritage Controls with the need to improve connectivity between school buildings. With a focus on blending modern design principles with a respect for the natural and urban landscapes, Jacinda strives to create environments that enhance how people live, work and interact. She is particularly driven by the challenge of integrating sustainable practices into every stage of design and construction through understanding site contexts, building material choices, on site energy production opportunities and biophilic design. By prioritising energy efficiency, innovative materials and green technologies, she aims to contribute to a more resilient, future-ready built environment. Jacinda has worked as an architect in the remotest parts of Australia, in urban locations and also in Bath and Oxford, UK. She is a member of the Royal Australian Institute of Architects, an examiner with the Architects Registration Board of Victoria, a registered Building Practitioner and a member of ArchiTeam and Marion’s List. She is actively engaged with Melbourne’s architectural and design community, participating in forums, exhibitions and discussions that shape the future of the design and architecture industry. She has a Bachelor of Architecture from RMIT University. We acknowledge that we live and work on the land of First Nations people. We pay our respects to Elders, past and present, and commit to working towards Treaty and justice for First Nations people.
