I graduated from Illinois State University with a BS in Biology, I'm interested in pursuing a career in the medical or natural sciences. My passion has always been helping and leading others. I am a commissioned officer in the IL Army National Guard, where I lead a platoon of soldiers and vehicles through various exercises and tasks. ● Second-in-command of an Army National Guard Transportation company, consisting of 120+ personnel and 50+ tactical vehicles. ● Supervises the Operations section charged with planning all outgoing training events and missions. ● Functions as the unit Safety Officer, responsible for ensuring all actions are completed in a safe and efficient matter. Develops and implements new SOPs in order to stay relevant with a diverse mission-set.
● Officer in Charge of a specialized and diverse 20 Soldier team that utilized drones, cameras, and other sensor systems in support of Customs and Border Patrol (CBP). The success of my team produced the highest number of assisted apprehensions across the unit. ● I was solely responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing daily training for all 120+ Soldiers in my unit. Developed physical training plans, weapon system familiarizations, lifesaving classes, and many more events that greatly contributed to our overall mission success. ● Worked closely with CBP, the Department of Homeland Security, and local Law Enforcement to ensure we were meeting the needs of the dynamic and fragile situation on the Mexico-United States border.
● First Line Leader responsible for about 40 soldiers and vehicles. Oversaw and commanded soldiers in terms of resupply, convoy, maintenance, and tactical operations.
● Ensured site safety for all patrons by following standard operating procedures and site protocols, assisted with fire drills, performed temperature checks on individuals entering the building, and provided customer service to all individuals on site.
● Worked hands-on in the garage performing manual labor and basic maintenance tasks. Ran errands in company vehicles to supply and assist at active job sites.
