J.J. Johnson is the creative force and founding partner of Sinking Ship Entertainment. He is a four-time Emmy Award winning executive producer, three-time Emmy Award winning director, CSA and two-time WGC Award winning writer, and bestselling author. J.J. has created more than 17 series, including Dino Dana and Annedroids (Amazon), Endlings (Hulu), Lockdown(YouTube Originals), and the Ghostwriter reboot (Apple TV+). He also served as executive producer and series director on Odd Squad (PBS). More recently, he created Jane (Apple TV+), an environmental action-adventure series produced alongside the Jane Goodall Institute. Upcoming projects include The First Dinosaur, a sequel feature to Dino Dana: The Movie; Stevie and the Sacred Animals, a preschool hybrid live-action/2D animated series produced alongside Eagle Vision; and Lila Goes Viral, a YouTube series about an accidental environmental activist produced alongside Oscar-winning Lion Forge Entertainment. J.J. actively contributes to conversations across the media industry, academia, and beyond. He has co-authored multiple academic papers and has been a guest speaker at the Toronto International Film Festival, MIPCOM, Kidscreen Summit, Banff World Media Festival, Prime Time Conference, the Geena Davis Institute, Prix Jeunesse, the International Communication Association, SXSW, and the United Nations Headquarters in both New York and Geneva.
