BSc Radiation Therapy in 2007 at Escola Superior de Tecnologia da Saúde do Porto (ESTSP) MSc in Medical Physics 2010 with dissertation on radiobiological equivalence between low dose rate and pulsed dose rate in cervical cancer treated with brachytherapy. PhD in Education of Therapeutic Radiographers across Europe: competencies, professional mobility and patient safety at Ulster University (Feb 2022) I worked as Radiotherapist from 2007-2014 in Instituto Português de Oncologia do Porto (IPOP), where I joined the Radiosurgery/Stereotactic Radiotherapy group at IPO in 2011 and, in 2013, started working as a Dosimetrist at the same Institute. I was an Invited Assistant Lecturer at the Escola Superior de Tecnologia da Saúde from 2012-2014. I am currently a Lecturer at the University of Malta - Faculty of Health Sciences - Radiography Department since April 2014.
As part of this role, I coordinated the applicationg for an EU grant (400k Euros) and its management. This included budgeting, project management, quality assurance, impact assessment, and dissemination. I was also involved in the scientific/technical delivery of outputs, such as design of the curriculum for the optimisation course and research.
Leading the Committee who are working amazingly for European Radiotherapy Radiographers/Radiation Therapists. Listen to European professionals and their needs. Organise activities to grow the profession. Liaise with the EFRS Board. Liaise with other partners.
Support the development of Therapeutic Radiographers/Radiation Therapists across Europe. Organisation of webinars. Organisation and delivery of talks at European conference. Promotion of the Committee at European events. Research in Radiotherapy practice.
Participate in Committee meetings. Develop activities that aim to streghthen the Education of Radiographers worldwide.
