Dr. Işıl Ruacan Silahtaroğlu, who serves as the English Preparatory Program Coordinator and English Unit Head at Marmara University School of Foreign Languages, oversees multiple academic offices, including testing, curriculum and materials design, and professional development. She also provides academic leadership to a team of over one hundred instructors. Her work focuses on ensuring academic quality, effective coordination, and continuous professional growth within the program. In addition to her leadership role, Dr. Silahtaroğlu has managed key administrative tasks such as student placement, scheduling, and academic staff recruitment, while also contributing to the university’s quality assurance efforts. Regarding her educational background, Dr. Işıl Ruacan Silahtaroğlu holds a BA in English Language and Literature from Bogazici University, and an MA and PhD from Marmara University, Faculty of Communication. This academic foundation has given her a strong interdisciplinary perspective, combining insights from communication studies and English language education.
