Murfreesboro, Tennessee, United States
I perceive life as one great adventure—whether it’s decoding federal water regs or reworking an internal policy, I’m all in. I’m always learning, exploring, and wringing every bit of meaning (and sometimes humor) out of the most mundane tasks. Back in 2011, I traded the freedom of freelancing for the security of a full-time role and found myself diving headfirst into the fascinating world of water treatment. I began my career as an Administrative Assistant at Severn Trent Services, where I sharpened my skills in data analysis, reporting, Excel sorcery, and public communication—all while learning more than I ever expected about chlorine residuals and flow rates. When Severn Trent became Inframark, I joined Consolidated Utility District (CUD) as the Assistant to the General Manager. That role opened the door to an entirely new adventure—Human Resources. I discovered a deep passion for people operations, communication strategy, and culture-building, and transitioned from HR Assistant into my current role as HR Generalist. Today, I balance strategic HR work with sharp communication, empathy, and a fair bit of creative problem-solving. Whether I’m managing recruitment, writing a performance review, planning a volunteer event, or crafting a kind email, my goal is always the same: keep things running smoothly, fairly, and humanely. I’m an analytics enthusiast, a communication translator, and a culture champion. I believe that meaningful work comes from doing the small things well—and making space to laugh along the way.
As an HR Generalist at CUD, I manage a wide range of people operations with a blend of strategic insight, clear communication, and a healthy dose of dry humor to keep things running smoothly. My work touches every part of the employee experience—from recruiting and onboarding to performance reviews, benefits administration, employee engagement, and beyond. I specialize in: Recruitment & Hiring: Leading full-cycle hiring for seasonal and permanent roles, crafting engaging job postings, coordinating interviews, and writing offer letters that balance professionalism with approachability. Internal Communications: Drafting everything from policy updates and meeting reminders to internal social media posts that drive engagement and maybe even make you laugh a little. Employee Relations: Navigating sensitive conversations with empathy and clarity, while ensuring compliance with company policies and employment law. Performance Management: Supporting managers with structured performance reviews and thoughtful feedback, always tailored to the individual. Event Coordination: Planning employee engagement activities—from Arbor Day celebrations and food truck days to large-scale volunteer events—because culture doesn’t build itself. Administrative Efficiency: Streamlining HR processes and documentation, and collaborating with staffing agencies and other partners to keep operations humming along. I also contribute to internal training content, help shape our company’s tone and voice, and serve as a behind-the-scenes strategist for employee morale. Whether it’s supporting a stressed-out coworker, rewording a rejection email with compassion, or helping turn a last-minute agenda into a cohesive meeting plan—I’m the person people call when they need a trusted voice and a calm head.
