I design and deploy data and AI systems for private markets and high-growth companies, with a focus on driving investment decisions and unlocking topline impact. At Sofina (EUR10B+ PE/VC), I lead the architecture of the firm’s data platform (Azure, Snowflake) and build AI-native systems used directly by investment teams. I partner closely with the front office and leadership to translate ambiguous problems into production-grade systems. I also bring engineering best practices (DataOps, SRE, CI/CD) to improve reliability and speed of decision-making. Previously, I was a Forward-Deployed Data Engineer at Openspace Capital, where I worked hands-on with portfolio founders and operators to design and scale their data and ML projects. In parallel, I built internal tools for sourcing and portfolio monitoring used by the fund (Google Cloud).
- Forward-Deployed AI & Agent Tooling: Deployed custom Model Context Protocol (MCP) ecosystem and end-to-end AI pipelines, partnering directly with investors to build custom tooling (skills) to automate workflows. - Full-Stack Prototyping & Delivery: Transition fluidly across the stack (backend infrastructure to front-end tooling) to rapidly ship high-impact technical solutions. - Platform Architecture: Architect and build the firm’s proprietary data platform on Azure and Snowflake, acting as an individual contributor driving the roadmap, IaC, DataOps, and ETL/ELT pipelines.
Dual role as a forward-deployed data & AI engineer embedded in portfolio companies, and a data/platform engineer for the investment team. - Startup Engagement & Deployment: Embedded directly with founders and operators across the portfolio to understand critical workflows, align on KPIs, and ship production data/AI systems. - AI Application Development: Shipped production AI systems (Python, FastAPI, GCP, vision/document models) to automate core investment workflows, translating complex pitch decks and meeting transcripts into clear, actionable next steps in the investment process. - End-to-End Production: Built and deployed demand forecasting and recommendation systems (Spark, Databricks) for consumer startups, delivering measurable business value such as reducing stockouts and re-engaging churned users. - Platform Engineering: Maintained the firm's proprietary AI and data platform (BigQuery, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub).
